Your preference apparently is to live in a dream world where the Founders were all great men whose ideals we should emulate? The truth is that these were flawed men (as are we all) and from the best (maybe John Jay) to the worst (maybe Thomas Jefferson), none of them were good slave owners. There is no such thing.

I’m not claiming they didn’t have any number of accomplishments in their life. I’m not saying they didn’t do any good or even great things in their lives. I am saying that there is nothing redeeming about casually owning another human being.

History is to be learned from, not covered up!
