With few exceptions, even those that voted for him know he’s a narcissistic idiot who has no grasp of the basics of the office of President of the United States. They vote for him anyway because they get something they want they wouldn’t have otherwise. Some settled for the Supreme Court Justices he appointed, which got them ending abortion rights, a balance in favor of religious causes, and ending affirmative action and voter suppression. Others see in Trump that he somewhat represents them when in truth, he doesn’t give a damn. There is an assumption people are somehow voting against their interests; the truth is, we don’t dare acknowledge their interests and give them the benefit of the doubt.
