Why would I not consider race in this instance? The shooter knew who was at the door; she had previously used racial slurs at the woman’s children and assaulted one with full knowledge of the child’s race. The stand-your-ground reasoning for failing to arrest her for days has never been applied equally. When we have a color-blind society, I’ll be happy to treat laws that are used in a racist manner without thinking of race.
