Will he finally get his Wish?
Donald Trump has been dreaming of shooting people for a long time. During his first campaign for president, he theorized he could shoot someone and get away with it. And that was before the Supreme Court granted him immunity from prosecution as a president.
“I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn’t lose any voters, OK?” It’s, like, incredible!”
During the George Floyd protests near the White House in 2020, he asked his Defense Secretary Mark Esper if he couldn’t simply shoot the protesters.
“Can’t you just shoot them? Just shoot them in the legs or something?
Separately in 2020, Trump tweeted about the nationwide protests. Echoing a phrase attributed to Walter E. Headley, the police chief of Miami, Florida, in response to an outbreak of violent crime during the 1967 Christmas holiday season.
“When the looting starts, the shooting starts.”
