The people opposed to CRT are pretty much opposed to any teaching about most matters of race. The bill to teach the Ocoee Massacre came first. DeSantis's new bill requiring everything be consistent with the ideals of the Declaration of Independence may well cancel it out.

While CRT may be a few generations removed from something based on a communist view. I'm reminded that Communists supported the Scottsboro Boys in Alabama when the US Government did not. CRT (which is taught in a limited number of colleges and universities) isn't based on Communist views, isn't taught to kindergarteners, and isn't just to make white people feel bad, though it may give those not in denial something to think about.
