The excuse of “not caring about politics” only counts if you’re twelve or live in a biosphere with eight other people. Saying I don’t notice any of the things around me so I don’t have to say or do anything is weak.

As attacks go, telling someone to pick a side isn’t much of one. As excuses go, saying “I was lumped in with racists so I might as well be one,” is pretty weak. Go ahead, be a racist. At least claim it because standing by and doing nothing is tacit support.
