The behavior of white people, especially rich and powerful white people, hasn’t changed that much, it just has different names. When they stopped enslaving people after the Civil War, they implemented the Black Codes which tried to replicate slavery. After that was Jim Crow which was as close to the Black Codes as they could legally get. That lasted until the mid-late 1960s during which I was alive and experiencing its influence. After Jim Crow, things got more sophisticated but voter suppression, income inequality, job discrimination, and inferior educations are all alive and well.

White folk are continuing to benefit from a privilege Black people didn’t have. Black people were denied the opportunity for VA Loans from the G.I. Bill for over twenty years and from getting FHA loans for over thirty. The US Government invented redlining and kept it in place until 1968 when they changed the name again. Racism isn’t something of the past, it still exists and is prospering. You aren’t listening enough for me to prove to you everything you don’t know.
