Technically, Ukraine used to be part of Russia and Tiawon was part of China. Neither Russia or China had a valid claim today. Greenland doesn't want to be associated with Denmark or the United States. Trump wants Greenland because they have minerals he wants to exploit. There may be legitimate security concerns but I don't think Trump cares one bit about them.
