Somebody's a little defensive today. I didn't say racism is worse today than in the 1960s but I could. There are literally hundreds of white supremacist groups active today and a couple were recently involved in attempting to overthrow the government. I guess they wanted to preserve their roles in the Oval office. The Voting Rights Actof 1965 has been gutted, mass incarceration is back on the rise and Black History is being erased from the classroom.
Why wouldn't I use race as a political point when it is one of the few points one Party wants to run on. They created the Critical Race Issue which wasn't a real thing. We have politicians in Tennessee and Oklahoma lamenting they can no longer lynch Black people and imagining "they have more rights than we do!"
Robert Byrd would have been a good example. Thurmond was both a Democrat and Republican. So was Trump. I see none of this resonates with you, I don't even wonder why.
