My question takes nothing away from Japanese culture, nor does it reflect much on Japanese culture. It centers on how the Europeans were portrayed in 1600, as if the Dutch, Spanish, and Portuguese went anywhere without slaves at that time. The Jesuits not only had slaves but also traded Japanese and Korean slaves. While there may have been a great effort to get the Japanese history correct, they totally whitewashed the Europeans.
