Keeping to the parallel of Nat Turner, several of those captured (participants or not) had their heads cut off and put on spikes to make an example of them. The same thing happened after the German Coast Rebellion.

Certainly Israeli citizens and families have reason to grieve, as have the Palestinians over decades. After Nat Turner, at least some in state government made efforts to lessen cruelty to slaves (others made things worse). I suspect conditions for Palestinians aren't about to improve.
