I’ve done a little research into the history of the French colonization of Africa and the use of conscripts to fight wars and run factories. After WW2, in particular, they were banished to ghettoes and left to fend for themselves. I know enough to be dangerous but not enough to have perspective as of yet. I plan to write about French racism soon and am hopeful the additional research required will get me there.
