It’s one thing to say as the AP booklet does, that slaves used the same skills once free and another to suggest they were better off for having been slaves because of what they learned. The AP recognizes that Africans brought skills with them, which Florida never says.

My concerns bigger than that of the semantics of “benefits” is the Florida Guidelines crediting the large population growth of enslaved people to “natural reproduction” instead of properly crediting forced breeding and rape and the constant drumbeat of all the abolitionists throughout American history trying to end slavery when some had no such intention.

BTW, your label of the AP test as “CRT friendly” is suspect. History is only made complicated by those trying to change it.
