I'm sure you know more of the FBI's history than I do, yet my perspective was formed with good reason. It's my understanding that the first Black employees were low-level informants, used in COINTELPRO to infiltrate Black organizations. Perhaps you know differently. While COINTELPRO eventually went away after the Fred Hampton murder and the release of classified documents, they simply changed the name, starting new programs like Black Identity Extremists, in order to engage in similar tactics. Given my writing, I wouldn't be shocked to discover a file on me somewhere in their offices. I write about their past because most people don't know it. Thanks for reading along.
