If you read that the uranium needed was stockpiled and enough to meet the needs of the Manhattan Project, I sugggest you check yoiur source, or even the article attached, or watch the movie. Certainly the Belgians have a long history of abuse, but in this particular case, American demand did add fuel to the fire. Uranium was once thought of as a byproduct of mining and not a valuable commodity.
