I stand by my claim that Napoleon got rid of Louisiana at a fire sale price and that he didn't want a duplication of what happened in Haiti. The rationale for attempting to get Haiti back and dumping its land in America didn't have to be based on racism per se. It was based on the economics that made enslaving people so acceptable though obviously immoral. The French were making a ton of money in Haiti, not caring about the percenytage of enslaved people who were dying from Malaria and other diseases. They didn't see a way to make Louisiana profitable, given how much harder it would be to control the enslaved population.
