I have no idea what you mean when you say HBCUs aren't able to "blend in with traditional universities." Many students do their undergraduate studies at HBCUs and go on to get advanced degrees at predominantly white institutions. They seem to be blending just fine.

HBCUs only exist because they weren't wanted or allowed at thiose same schools. I can think of another reason private schools and academies are growing, can you?
