I had no problem judging them by the standards of their time.

Washington had bad teeth so he pulled some out of the mouths of his slaves. At what time was that acceptable. Teddy was an out an out racist. Lincoln wanted to send all the freed slaves to Liberia after they built the country. Jefferson had a twenty year plan to increase the value of domestic slaves (of which he owned over 600 during his lifetime) which depended on the constant raping and breeding of slave women. You're suggesting we let bygones be bygones. Those founders are directly responsible for the inequities of today. When Trump is judged, putting children in cages and separating them permanently from their families won't be something people did in this era that we can't judge him for.
