I don't recall any scenes set on railroads in Roots or Roots II, but it's been many years since I watched. If there were scenes set at locations where the Chinese would have been present, they should have been included. I haven't researched Chinese workers in the South and initially didn't find anything. It would seem that the average of $20 monthly Chinese workers received in the West was higher than the cost of slaves in the South.
