I can't speak to whether any Norwegians were in the landing parties but telling Shaka Zulu's story without white people would be a distortion of history. Excluding Black people from Shogun at least gives Spainards and the Portuguese a pass who at that time weren't traveling anywhere without Black slaves and crew. Spain landed in Florida in 1526 with over 100 slaves and another group landed in St. Augustine in the nid-1560s. Portugul established the Atlantic slave trade by bringing slaves to Brazil in 1526. History tells us they brought slaves and crew to Japan. Shogun has shown us the crews of these ships which to this point have been all-white as have the land-based missionaries. Am I wrong to wonder why?
