Hi Bob, the nature of that committee and who becomes before it ensures that most of the people she questions are white men. It’s partisan in nature, and generally, she’s harder on Republicans than fellow Democrats except for a nominee from her party she feels is unqualified, which does happen.

She is just as hard on the few Republican women that come before her but take my word for it that the men are more likely to take it personally.

As to how she was selected, her gender and race may have been factors but she was absolutely qualified having served four years in the Senate and several as the California Attorney General. She was more qualified than the most recent Republican President who hosted a game show and ran a fraudulent company. Now after her service as Vice-President she’s even more qualified but she would be hated all the same.

BTW, the title choices are my own and I toned it down from my original choice.
