Her relatives were treated little differently except some attained higher responsibility due to their training (James and Peter); Sally had responsibilities like every other enslaved person. You seem to be suggesting Jefferson only broke his promise a little bit. He didn’t free son Beverly or daughter Harriet at 21; they eventually left (though not pursued) a few years after the broken promise. Madison wasn’t freed and might have remained enslaved much longer had Thomas not died. Please never make me a promise, as your definition of fulfillment is too flexible for me to rely on.
