Have you any insight about changes to Medium's Boosting policy? I used to be able to predict fairly accurately which of my stories will get boosted, getting suprised each way but not often. Now, it's equally predictable in that almost none of my stories are getting boosted. It's been over a month since the last time which is highly unusual for me. I've had editors say Medium is looking for "upbeat" stories. Others have said a number of things, often contradictory. Why won't Medium say what they prefer? I'm on pace to make 1/3 in August of what I made (and received later than ever) in July.

There is a site that pays me $150 per story but it has to be exclusive to them. I used to weigh whether the story might be boosted and potentially earn much more or whether to accept the flat rate. It's getting easier to go for the flat rate and not publish many stoies on Medium. I'm also now focusing on Substack and elsewhere because Medium is neither dependable or transparent. I'd appreciate your thoughts.
