Edward Vlll never had a coronation but he was King from January 20, 1936 until he abdicated. Just as Charles lll is King now though he hasn’t been coronated. My point about Elizabeth ll is that she could have apologized for the atrocities committed by her nation once they came to light. Pretending they didn’t happen is support after the fact (if not during).
