By 1857, America had rid itself of the notion that poor people were all considered the same. After Bacon’s Rebellion way back in 1676 when the poorest classes (Black indentured servants, Black enslaved people, and white indentured servants) combined forces to attack Jamestown. It became necessary to stratify the poor, making the clearly visible Blacks the lowest rung and all white people a notch or two higher.

By 2045, who is classified as white will likely change and some group not presently considered white will suddenly be accepted to keep the proper balance. I’m, not naïve to this and have already written about it. Always good to get your perspective but your view of America is entirely too optimistic.
