Blight People

My New Name For People That Are An Embarrassment To Others

I write a lot about history, race, and the history of race, all of which call for me to talk about white people. I get tired of making the disclaimer that I’m not speaking of ALL white people. Views and actions of white people run the gamut. Many are good people who mean well and are willing to act on their beliefs. Some know the truth of American history but deny that variations of the same themes exist in the present. They think racism ended after the Civil War, the Civil Rights era, or after the election of Barack Obama. None of those things are true, but that’s what they believe. Then there are white people that from now on, I will call Blight people.

Blight: a thing that spoils or damages something:

Blight people do what they do, knowing full well the impact of their actions, but they do them anyway. Their motivations may not be strictly race-based, and their goal may be to win elections, more likely to enrich themselves at the expense of others. They could be seeking a continual of the same kind of cheap labor that built America. These are the Blight People, and you know who some of them are.
